Coburg Initiative Concept Design Forum
This consultation has concluded. You can still browse the site but the discussion area will no longer accept new comments or votes.
We invite all community members to share their views, to exchange ideas and to listen to what other people have to say. Before engaging in the community forum, the Coburg Initiative asks that all participants read the Design Workshop Summary Paper to gain an understanding of the depth of ideas, issues and opportunities discussed at the forum.
Moreland City Council, together with its development partner, Equiset, held the Coburg Initiative Design Workshop on the 1-3 of June 2009. The Design Workshop was an intensive three day planning and design exercise, bringing together key stakeholders and community members to discuss, develop and explore possible planning solutions for Central Coburg.
A summary paper has been prepared which describes the key themes from the stakeholder and public discussions and an overview of the ideas explored for a revitalised and vibrant Coburg Central. A copy of the summary document can be found in the ‘Library’ section of this website.
Throughout the engagement process, the community and stakeholders have identified critical themes and issues that need to be explored and discussed before we commence the next stage of the Coburg Initiative. The key themes that require further discussion and debate are the Leisure Centre, Coburg Oval, Sydney Road, Carparking, Railway Line and Pedestrian Access. The purpose of this forum is to explore each of these in further detail before we commence drafting the Central Coburg master plan.
